My girlfriend and I stayed at Stella Maris Hotel in Da Nang for 16 nights in the Stella Maris Suite on the 14th floor, and overall our experience was excellent. The suite was fantastic. Spacious, modern, very clean, and extremely comfortable. The view from the room was amazing. The hotel’s location is ideal, just a short walk from the beach and close to everything you might need such as restaurants, bars, and mini-marts. As frequent travelers, we are used to bringing earplugs, which proved helpful here as well, mainly due to traffic noise and a group of people exercising near the beach with loud music every morning around 5:15. With earplugs, however, our sleep was not disturbed. The construction work for the nearby Nobu Hotel did not bother us at all and did not affect either our comfort or the view from the suite. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, offering a wide variety of options and something for every taste. What truly stood out was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, professional, and accommodating—always helpful, genuinely welcoming, and always with a smile on their faces. The rooftop bar offers a truly magical view and is well worth a visit. However, the drinks were on the lighter side and could benefit from more depth in flavor. The very top area of the rooftop could also be made a bit more inviting, which would likely attract more guests. We would happily return and can highly recommend this hotel, which combines a beautiful setting and excellent value for money with outstanding, friendly service.

“Very small room”

Room is very small, bathroom and wc are in the same area and just a curtain for privacy if you go to toilet. Poor layout of the bathroom.

The only reason I’m giving this 3 stars is because the staff are friendly and there is a good view of the sea. This hotel was designed by someone who never stays in hotels. Firstly it is very tall but there are only two lifts with no service lift so you often have to wait for staff moving trolleys.… more

The only reason I’m giving this 3 stars is because the staff are friendly and there is a good view of the sea. This hotel was designed by someone who never stays in hotels. Firstly it is very tall but there are only two lifts with no service lift so you often have to wait for staff moving trolleys. The rooms are small and the bathroom layout is frankly bizarre. The sink is in the middle of the room with an open shower and toilet behind. The shower is open to the toilet so water goes all over the floor meaning you have to use all your towels to wipe around the toilet or get wet feet. The only thing separating you from the room is a glass door and a pull across curtain. There is nowhere to put any clothes apart from one tiny wardrobe with 4 hangers. There is no other storage. On arrival our room (a deluxe) was on floor 6. It stank of smoke so we asked to be moved. We were told we could move the next day. So we had a whole night in a room that stank of smoke and it was so noisy from outside and other rooms. On top of this the wardrobe door wouldn’t stay closed so an inner light shone into the room all night. We were moved to floor 12 - this was better noise wise but the same awful layout. I’m really surprised this hotel has so many good reviews. We had to check out and then wait 3 hours before our new room was ready - initially being told we had to bring all our luggage down. All of this after a night of very little sleep. Usually when you move rooms in a hotel they do this for you. As compensation for all of this we were offered 2 foot massages. The breakfast is good - lots of choice and it does have good views at the moment but a huge hotel is going up next door.
