The hotel is nicely situated about 100 meters from the Schillerplatz, where in fact the traffic-free center begins. The hotel has also a very large underground parking with reserved places for Hilton Honors members. People at the front desk were very friendly. Rooms (we got an upgrade as Diamond member) were very large with a nice bath room. However, no shower but a bath tub with a curtain in stead of a glass door) Room was very clean. Interiors of the rooms are a little bit outdated, but still OK Breakfast buffet was totally OK with very friendly service. The only thing I want to remark is that you are obliged to hang the sign on the outside of your door, if you want your room cleaned or bed made up. There was a sticker on the bath room mirror, mentioning this, but who reads this...... When we mentioned this at check out, the man said he gaves us a paper with a.o. the hours of breakfast.... Apparently on that paper was mentioned that you had to hang the sign on your door. At least they could have mentioned it, when we checked in. Result of course : our bed was not made up. I stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world (of course also, but not only, in Hiltons) and it is the first time we heard this. That they do not clean the whole room for a 2 nights stay, I can understand. But making up the beds and give a quick clean in the bath room is the minimum, certainly for a quality chain as Hilton. All by all we were satisfied about our stay, but do stop with the obligation to hang up the "cleaning" sign.

I booked three rooms for a work trip and was happily surprised that all three rooms had been upgraded because of my Diamond Status, only two of us received the goody bag though as one colleague did not have status with Hilton. arrival was simple and I used the underground parking at the hotel which made life easier, you do have room to offload first at the front door. During our stay the lifts were not working so we were 'diverted' into the back caverns of the hotel to use the staff lifts which was interesting if not conveint. The hotel could do with sprucing up but it is a great place to stay to see Mainz.

“Fair”

I gotta say the management needs to think about updating this place. It’s starting to really show its age. However, it is clean and staff are nice. Proximity to the Mainz train station and to the main shopping area is a bonus. If you can get the balcony room!

“Family visit ”

This hotel is ideally located just off one of the main parks/squares in Mainz. Perfect location to where we needed to be to meet more family. Check in was great our rooms were ready earlier than expected which was great as we had an early flight. Stayed on 2nd floor. Twin room. Smaller than expect… more

This hotel is ideally located just off one of the main parks/squares in Mainz. Perfect location to where we needed to be to meet more family. Check in was great our rooms were ready earlier than expected which was great as we had an early flight. Stayed on 2nd floor. Twin room. Smaller than expected but we didn't spend much time in the hotel. Rooms were dated, paint and wall paper scuffs, maybe other floors are renovated. Asked for extra pillows they were delivered in a few mins. We had total of 3 rooms booked, my sister had an issue with a blocked toilet. Night staff told her to use the toilet brush to try unblock herself which was totally unacceptable. After this the toilet overflowed and flooded her bathroom floor, they were unable to use the toilet or shower for the evening. When she complained the next day there was no record of her complaints. The receptionist couldn't apologise enough and moved her rooms. Felt the complaint could of been dealt with better. Overall the hotel has a great location but could do with revamp and refresh and some staff training on customer service.
