My wife and I stayed there in Oct 2018, the room we got was a very nice and comfortable double room Friendly and advisable reception guy, speaking good English Honest and good value for money hotel, would go back without any doubt !

“Good Location, Friendly Staff”

The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Taichung's main railway station (not HSR) in the centre of town. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Taichung's main railway station (not HSR) in the centre of town. It is only a block away from the revitalized stream promenade and the historic Prefecture Hall. Reception was friendly and I never had to wait long for the single elevator serving the hotel. The room was tidy, nicely-furnished with a clean bathroom. The shower looked a bit odd though, being tucked inside an alcove. Unfortunately, the windows were not too soundproof so the street noise seeped in excessively, ending late into the night and starting early in the morning.

It was my first time to Taichung and we had booked windowless rooms for our one night stay. I did miss having a window just a tiny bit, but the cleanliness, quiet and comfort of the room outweighed the lack of a view. Our rooms had no refrigerator, but that was not a problem since we only stayed one night. I count this among the cleanest rooms I have found in my travels through Taiwan, so I would be happy to stay here again in the future. The first thing I noticed when we arrived was an old home across the street that was left from the Japanese occupation of Taiwan. We are interested in historical buildings, so the sight of this one was a good omen for our stay. We got there too early to check into our rooms, but the friendly hotel staff kept our luggage behind the counter for us while we went shopping. Directly across the street was the beginning of a nearby market street. I was even able to find a luggage shop in this area with a good replacement for my largest bag, which was fairly destroyed on my flight from the USA. Then we enjoyed a couple of hours of bargain shopping and souvenir gathering, and a visit to a nearby temple before returning to check in at our hotel. We were surprised to find two single beds in each of our rooms! After showering in our very clean bathrooms, we took a taxi to a big and busy night market across town. This place had the most food selections I have seen at any night market and it was easy to make a meal of a large variety of snacks. I bought clothing, gifts, and more souvenirs. This hotel is probably the nicest in this section of town. The others we saw while walking around seemed shabby compared to this one. I would most definitely want to stay here again if I am fortunate to return to Taichung!
