Hanoi

Arrival. Transfer to hotel. We begin with a tour of the city and its main points of interest: the outside of Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum, the Governor's residence, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, Ho Hoan Kiem Lake (Lake of the Restored Sword). We end the day with a marionette show on the water. Dinner at a local restaurant. Return to hotel. Overnight stay.

Hanoi - Ha Long Bay

Breakfast. Departure to Ha Long Bay. On the way, we stop at a silk goods production centre. Upon arrival in Halong, we board a traditional junk for a trip around the bay, which will take us past islands, islets, large rock formations, and cliffs. Full board. Night on board.

Ha Long Bay – Hanoi – Da Nang – Hoi An

We return to the port in the morning. Brunch onboard. Disembark and transfer to Hanoi airport for a domestic flight to Da Nang in the south of the country. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay.

Hoi An – Da Nang - Hue

Breakfast. Today, we'll explore the town of Hoi An on a cyclo. Zig-zagging through commercial streets, we'll reach the Japanese Bridge and visit a nearby temple of the Chinese community. We'll then take a tour of an old merchant's house and a silk goods factory. Transfer to Da Nang to visit the Marble Mountains, including Thuy Son. At the foot of Thuy Son is the village of Dong Hai, where today there are still entire families that carve stone as a living. We'll head to the Linh Ung Pagoda and then the Cham Museum. Lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer to Hue. Arrival at hotel. Overnight stay.

Hue – Ho Chi Minh City

Breakfast. We'll spend the morning getting to know some of the most important places in Hue: the Thien Mu Pagoda next to the Perfume River and the mausoleum of Tu Duc and Khai Dink. Lunch at a local restaurant. The Nguyen emperors built the Citadel in the centre of the imperial city in 1802. This is home to the Pavilion of the Five Phoenixes, the Supreme Palace of Peace, and the Mieu. Transfer to the airport to take a domestic flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels - Ho Chi Minh City

Breakfast. In the morning we leave the city to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, the Vietcong's underground road system, where they had warehouses, dormitories, armouries, infirmaries. The tunnels were built during the French occupation but reached their peak during the war against the United States. Lunch at a local restaurant. Return to Ho Chi Minh City for sightseeing: the War Museum, the Post House, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Taoist sacred site of Chua Ngoc Hoang, the Jade Emperor Pagoda and the shopping area of Rue Catinat. Return to hotel. Overnight stay.

Ho Chi Minh City – Chau Doc

Breakfast. Day spent visiting the Mekong Delta. After an hour's drive by road, we switch to boats to explore the area. We arrive at the Cai Be floating market, where fruit, vegetables and handicrafts made all over the delta are traded. We visit a family business where, following ancestral techniques, sweets, candles and cakes are produced. Lunch at a local restaurant. Onward journey to Chau Doc. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay.

Chau Doc - Phnom Penh

Breakfast. We will sail along the Mekong River to the border crossing with Cambodia, which we will do by river. Arrival in Phnom Penh in about five hours. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Lunch at a local restaurant. We begin our tour of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. We will visit the National Museum, with works of Khmer art dated between the 5th and 13th centuries. We will also visit the surroundings of the Royal Palace and the Throne Pavilion. The last stop will be at the Silver Pagoda. Return to hotel. Overnight stay.

Phnom Penh - Siem Reap

Breakfast. Departure to Siem Reap by road. Lunch at a local restaurant. We travel to Tonle Sap Lake, where we will visit a fishing village where the people live in houseboats. Arrival and transfer to the hotel in Siem Reap. Overnight stay.

Breakfast. We spend this day visiting the impressive temples of Angkor, starting with the fortified citadel of Angkor Thom. This was the last capital of the Khmer kingdom, where the Bayon is located, and one of the most photographed places in the country. We continue our visit to the Baphuon, the former royal palace flanked by the Phimeanakas. Nearby are the Terrace of the Elephant and the Terrace of the Leper King. Lunch at a local restaurant. We continue our visit to the Angkorm complex with 276 monuments. There we will see the undisputed masterpiece of Khmer architecture: the Angkor Wat. Finally we visit the Ta Prohm, which is sheltered by giant trees with huge roots. Return to hotel. Overnight stay.
